Yesterday’s casual winter show sponsored by the Walking Horse Owners Association (WHOA) in conjunction with the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibiter’s Association (TWHBEA) was fun filled and family oriented.

Fairview, Tennessee’s Deborah Goff won one of the Flat Shod classes on Command’s Jack Man Blues.

The Cutting Horse Show and Sale held at the Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro,TN was well-attended yesterday (February 13, 2010.) The event was sponsored/organized by Professional Auction Services (http://www.professionalauction.com/results.htm)

The demonstration/class on cutting and working cow horse conducted by trainer Rich Timmons (Chapel Hill, TN) was well-done, informative, and fun to watch. Rich can be reached at 615-557-5032.

News from Dave about Sonny's latest training session! 

I did ride Sonny yesterday. He was a little jiggy, but other than that, he did quite well. 

His backing was willing, light, and responsive. Also, I was able to open and close the gravity gate a couple of times while still mounted. Now let me tell you, it wasn't necessarily pretty, but we did get it done! LOL

 His general straightness, extension, and alignment do need some attention. It should come with more consistency and repetition.

 I did lope him and he seemed to relax a bit more than he does at a trot. He took the left lead on cue(lifting his left shoulder a bit and pushing him diagonally into the lead with the right leg). That was good.

 Looks like another few days of difficult weather.
